Aaaand...Go!

We'll start off this Monday with a music video.

Alyssa saw me painting my nails, and actually insisted that I do the same for her. She kept pointing to each finger, saying, "This one," until all 10 of her fingers were painted. She's so funny.

So, I finished reading the second book in the Y: The Last Man series, and today we will purchase our third. Except for a few really cheeseball moments, I'm really enjoying it. Yurick, the last man on earth however...I'm not a fan of his. Michael and I agree- he's kind of a bitch.

Anyways, also bought two new records: The XX (Mike bought it for me, not knowing that I had already purchased half of it off iTunes), and Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse's collaboration of Dark Night of the Soul- soundtrack to David Lynch's new movie. I am thoroughly enjoying both!

I plan on going ot see Scott Pilgrim next weekend. We would have gone this past Saturday but my mohter (our baby-sitter), was out of town. Booooo.

Lastly, this week is the week that I start on my At certification stuff. FUN! Additionally, I need to get my application in for Graduate school...Here we go again!

Let's hope we have a pleasant and productive week, and that I get over this cold that has been haunting me now for a little over a week.

Just Like Mom and Dad

That little chickadee right there, sticking out her tongue with me, is wonderful.

But aside form that, she is moving along quickly into the so-called "terrible two's."

She has started pushing us to see how far she can take things, or what happens when asked to do something, and she looks me in the eye and does not comply with my command not to so x,y, or z.

Furthermore, she repeats everything I say, but in the sweetest, quietest voice ever. For example, today when I was reprimanding her, she repeated every single word of it back to me, smiling, as she copied. Her recently acquired penchant for imitation has its upsides to it; learning good manners or how to correctly use a spoon or a fork...then there's the cursing. I have significantly cut back on how many times I use bad words, but Alyssa likes to point out that I definitely still use them. For example, yesterday, I remembered something important that I had left undone, and muttered the F-word quietly, three times in a row. I didn't think she was listening, but she stopped playing, smiled at me, and whispered that word right back, three times in a row. Aaaccckk! No, little baby of mine. No!

So, I really have to watch myself. I've considered a curse word jar, but that just seems so stupid.

I just have to be more careful, I guess. It's funny also, how she just knows what words are silly to say, because we've never giggled at or made the words "pee" or "poop" taboo or funny; yet, whenever someone says them, she laughs or smiles and repeats them. "Pee pee!" she yells. I love her.

In not so happy news, I told Michael about the fact that I am determined for us to separate.

But that is another story, that I do not care to tell. It exhausts me just thinking about our relationship. It's a terrible thing to say, but its the truth.

A Solution.

I'm drinking wine right now. It's no gin and tonic, but it'll do.

This is my solution to today, to yesterday, to this past week.

I'm actually okay. I just feel like I'm in limbo. I'll post a real update soon...

Blah Face

I loafed around all day stuffing my face. And I do mean stuffing my face with all kinds of carbohydrates and sugar. Lots of it.

I didn't have my "talk." I am waiting until next weekend; I feel like I'd be kicking him while he's down.

Tomorrow, I will update more...

This summer has been mercilessly hot. We haven't had air conditioning in our car for over a month now so I haven't wanted to take the kids anywhere.

Okay, off to relax some more. What a lazy day for me. Thankfully, Michael gave me time to myself to clean and just relax...

Music to love

I am all about The Drums. I downloaded their Summertime album and YEAH!!!
Descriptive, right? Gives you a real feel for the music, ha.

This weekend, four things will be accomplished:
1.) A difficult talk with Michael.
2.) Putting together at least 1/2 of my application for FIU's MFA program.
3.) Getting comfortable with cPanel.
4.) Miami to dance and drink too much with my sister-in-law.

As for number one on the list, I wish it hadn't come down to this...
This sucks.But again, if this is the most difficult part of my life to accept right now, then I'd say that I have it pretty easy...

And in all seriousness, I hope I don't drink too much on Saturday. I tend to get carried away if I'm drinking to forget about a problem that's been otherwise consuming me. No. I'll be good. Or at least, pretty good.

And lastly, today, I picked up: Y: The Last Man.


In the last few years, it's been recommended to me more than once or twice. So I'm going to give it a go...

Saturday Night

I was supposed to go out tonight. And I was really looking forward to it.

However, we needed to spend an hour on hosting basics. Michael started off with this drawing for me, lol:

Jerk. lol.

Followed up with stuff I actually did not know, but am glad to have an understanding of, now.
I am so tired right now, so if this entry is nearly incoherent...it's because I'm running nearly on empty...
By the time we finished our meeting, it was 11. Too late to start getting ready to go out. Boo.
Today we went to House of Vintage's sale. Made out well enough.
Saw sisters-in-law there. A lot of rockabilly folks there. And then some. omg...falling asleep while typing...goodnight.

Roman

I have not seen Freaks and Geeks, but I can tell you that I love Roman in Party Down. Ha. "Hardcore Sci-Fi." And so it is, that Mr. Starr has another fan!

When I've heard this said in the past, I did not understand quite what was meant by it.

Now I know the feeling. Shake the feeling off...

This morning, we went to the beach. I'm not a fan, but Alyssa is, so we've been trying to make it there on the weekends, at least. On about 5 and a half hours of sleep, I followed up bathing Aly and putting her to sleep for a nap, with a run at the gym; comedic relief- I fell asleep on the treadmill!
It was a relaxing run, and I closed my eyes, and dozed for about a second, but I stepped off to the right and almost ate it. Embarrassment. Whatever.

Did food shopping for the week, came home, fed Alyssa, and spent the next 3 hours playing with her.

This was us, playing. I had not yet had the chance to even shower off from the beach or gym. So gross. Alyssa was happy, fed, and well slept. Lucky girl, lol.

I need to slow down. I try to cram so many things into each day. I need to make a list of things i need to do daily, and prioritize. Period.

On that note, goodnight!

One More Time

Drove to the gym at 9 tonight so that I might burn off some of the waffles, cookies, and bacon that I ingested today, only to find it closed. CLOSED! New management, new hours. Guh! I go often, but never this late, so I hadn't noticed the change.

So now I'm back home, eating a few more cookies...F**k! I have such a sweet tooth in general, but chocolate chip cookies are one of things I seem to be helpless against. There's barely a fight. I generally slink back to the fridge where I last left them scolded, begging for one more taste...right before I throw moderation out the window and indulge in more than one.
